Search Engine Optimization tips for your website!

This is an article on tips you can use to optimize your website for search engines. When I was trying to optimize my site, apart from the obvious backlinks, and keywords, I havn't seen a single article defining what things can help your website! 1. Keyowrds, extremely important to any website to help identify the content!
- The fewer the better as they can be more refined
- Use keywords in combinations of 2 or 4 words, search engines like them more! 2. Keyword repetition
-Example, if in your keywords you had a word specifc to the product, e.g greeting cards, reapeat the two words, over and over.
Use http://www.webconfs.com/keyword-density-checker.php
to check how many times words are repeated! You can also see how many times words are repeated on competitors websites! 3. Content hyperlinks, these are also very important. If you have important words in your content, from the previous example, "cards", if you hyperlink that word to another page on your site, the search engine, will place a higher value on words that are hyperlinked on your site! 4. Headers, h1 to h6 headers are very important, be sure to use as many of these as possible as a search engine gives them higher value. Google especially likes, h1 and h2 headers! 5. ALT Tags (Image Tags), Although they may seem unimportant, alt tags are a great ways of repeating keywords in the content. They are text in the html, customers may not see them, but search engines definately will! All these together along with quality backlinks will help your site get higher in search engine rankings! |
